is placed on the Beauclerc Tower.

 
Funding of restoration of the weathervane
was by Heritage of London Trust.

FoSH Annual Quiz

 

A phenomenal amount of brain power was
brought into play at the quiz. It was a close
event decided by the answer to the question:
"What is under the floor you are all sitting on?"

Stephen Gee, Restoration Project Director,
 (picture left with Judith Lovelace)
gave a fascinating presentation 
on the structural plans for the restoration.
He revealed some of
the major pieces of construction 
work to be done, such as the demolition 
and rebuilding of the Great Tower.

main restoration contract for Strawberry Hill
has been awarded to E Bowman and Co Ltd.

30th October 2008
HRH Prince Michael of Kent
makes a private visit to Strawberry Hill.

His Royal Highness was shown round the house by a group of Trustees led by Michael Snodin, Chairman of the Strawberry Hill Trust with Rupert Symmons, Project Director and Dr Arthur Naylor, Principal of St Mary’s University College.

At a party to celebrate the start of the restoration project.

with the support of the World Monument Fund, have been engaged in a number of projects at Strawberry Hill House.

As part of the Twickenham Festival
 The RFU, once again, generously helped
to present the Strawberry Hill Music & Fun Day.


The event had  Live Bands, Fairground Rides,
Craft Stalls, Community Stalls,
Children's Entertainment,
Food Stalls, Beer Tents ...
and raised a very respectable
sum towards the restoration of the House

Peter Hill, Judith Lovelace & Michael Snodin

Michael stood down as chair of the Friends to concentrate on his other role as chair of the Trust.

Judith was elected as the new chair of the Friends.

ENVIRONMENT TRUST ART PICNIC

 

AT STRAWBERRY HILL

Budding artists wanting to learn new skills
and find out about the unique architecture of
Strawberry Hill House were invited to join
the first of the Environment Trust’s 2007 programme
of twelve Art Picnics on
Sunday the 21st of January 2007.
