The Holbein Chamber was a room of conspicuous wealth built in two halves separated by a pierced screen designed by Richard Bentley. The screen was surmounted by a jester's, or Saracen's head and was bordered by Catherine wheels and cross-crosslets. A monumental chimneypiece, possibly Bentley's greatest achievement at Strawberry Hill dominated the room.
